Asking for Google Reviews on Social...

Google Reviews can offer big benefits for marketing your OT, PT, or SLP Practice.

They don’t just build trust with potential clients—they also help bump your business higher in search results, making it easier for people to find you. The more good reviews you get, the more visible you become to folks looking for the services you offer. And this is just 2 of the top benefits!

One super easy way to collect reviews?

Post about it on social media! It’s low-pressure, takes almost no time, and gives people—beyond just your clients—a chance to show some love. Whether it’s a former client, a colleague, or someone who’s seen the great work you do, social media makes it easy for them to give you a shout-out and help your business grow.

Sound good? Now let’s make this super easy. After going over some specifics to keep in mind as a private practice owner, I’ll share some graphic and caption examples for you to quickly modify and get your Google Review Invites flowing on social media.

Some Things To Consider Before Posting a Google Review Request on Social Media

Ethical and Legal Considerations for Google Reviews

Before you start asking for reviews, it’s important to understand the ethical and legal aspects involved. Be sure you’re gathering reviews in a way that aligns with professional standards and privacy laws like HIPAA. I wrote a whole blog on this. And here are the parts that matter most in relation to asking for Google Reviews on Social Media,

  • You can’t incentivize Google Reviews. So no offering prizes or rewards in exchange for reviews.
  • Google Reviews are public so you might want to remind people to keep that mind so they don’t accidentally share information they don’t want to share.
  • Laws on asking for Reviews as a health professional differ by state, country, and professional license. Make sure you understand your specific requirements before posting a Google Review Request on social media.

Creating Your Simple Social Media Post

The graphic should be eye-catching and easy to understand—let it do most of the work for you! Keep the message short and sweet, and include a link or clear instructions on how to leave a review.

The beauty is, you can repeat your post every couple of months!

Pro Tips for Your Post:

  • Keep it short and simple – A straightforward message works best.
  • Let the graphic do the heavy lifting – Use a visual that catches the eye and makes your request clear.
  • Provide the link – Include a clickable link to your Google Review page or clear directions to make it easy.
  • Invite beyond clients – Encourage not just your clients but other professionals or community members who’ve seen your work to leave a review as well.

For some, I added my picture to make it feel like a more personal request. If you don’t want to add your face, you can also go with a more generic sign.
